 Polytechnic Tawau Sabah.

Polytechnic Tawau Sabah or in short, PTS is the 36th in Polytechnic Malaysia. Under the direction of the KPT's Ministry of Education Malaysia's Jabatan Pendidikan Politeknik dan Kolej Komuniti (JPPKK), PTS was introduced on September 1st, 2017 in Tawau, Sabah. When Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) graduates decide to go to college, they usually select polytechnics. In Malaysia, there are numerous polytechnics, one of which is Tawau Polytechnic (PTS). A conventional polytechnic would include Tawau Polytechnic.

While diploma-level courses make up the majority of study programs offered at polytechnics, some also offer certificate-level courses and bachelor's degrees. An academic program at the diploma level is available at Tawau Polytechnic. There are a lot of polytechnic graduates in this country who are needed to cover open positions.

TVET education are growing in popularity due to students acquired their skills and information over the long term or through their life experience before. That is why the curriculum of the Malaysian Polytechnic and Community College (POLYCC) is designed to meet the demands of the regional business community. Students who successfully complete TVET programs are in high demand by industry players and find employment quickly.

What Programs PTS offers.

The first intakes of the Diploma in Recreational Tourism (DRT) and the Diploma in Tourism Management (DUP), which will be offered in December 2018, are scheduled for session II, 2022/2023 (March 2023). The Department of Tourism and Hospitality is responsible for all of these study programs (JPH).

The specific goal of the creation of the Diploma in Tourism Management was to offer comprehensive coverage of the different segments of the tourism industry and the corresponding competency requirements, including travel and tourism operations, event management, leisure tourism, tourism marketing, and visitor interpretation services. Other essential skills for the tourism industry are also covered in this curriculum, including the foundations of hospitality and tourism, professional development, communication, safety and health, and entrepreneurship development. Graduates with the skills and knowledge required for tourism management can find many different kinds of jobs. 

The purpose of the Diploma in Recreational Tourism (DRT) is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of recreation as a part of the travel and tourism industry. Efficiency is essential in the tourism and recreation sectors. The creation and maintenance of recreational facilities, resort management, services for interpreting nature, recreational tourism, policy, recreational psychology, and recreational resources are among the subjects covered.

PTS is surrounded by other educational institutions in addition to IPG Tawau Campus and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sabah, Tawau Campus. PTS is located in Tawau's Balung. The local school, SMK Balung, was actually named a "Outstanding Rural School" at one point.

200 male students can be housed in Akasia Block and 200 female students in Teratai Block, the two residential college blocks of PTS Residential College.
